Ok so I admit I have been extremely busy trying to finish school, doing housework, making sure Kennleigh has everything she needs for school, that Blakeleigh makes all of her therapy appointments, and so naturally I got behind on my post.. So sit back hold on and get ready!!!!
This year we had an awesome Christmas as we always do. Shane and I discussed that the girls needed to hear the Christmas Story on Christmas Eve morning and again we read on Christmas night. The girls were very attentive. We also discussed that they needed to know how to give as well as receive. So we took trips with the girls to town and they were give $20 the deal was they had to buy there sibling something, and if there was money left they were able to purchase for anyone they wanted to. Much to my surprise they enjoyed this adventure. We then wrapped the gifts and they could hardly wait to open their gifts on Christmas night.
We went Christmas eve night to Granny's for supper and opening our gifts and then we headed straight to Nana's for dessert and more gifts and time with family. On Christmas day we went to Nannies and Maw maw's and then Shane, the girls, and myself had our Christmas from each other Christmas night. Of course Santa came by Christmas morning so we had to peek and see what he brought before starting our rounds!! He brought four wheelers 2 and neither one worked... O MY what in the world was Santa thinking??? It was all made ok when they understood that I could call santa and he would send two more riding toys-- worked like a charm!!!
So Christmas night we were headed back from the chicken houses and a big storm blew up!! I was so afraid this would be the last Christmas that we would be here.. Really It may seem exaggerated but It is not when we got home my swing cushions where in the cow pasture, the playhouse was moved a good little ways from its original location, and the basket ball goal was out by the shed. The girls saw the playhouse gone, and my goodness upset was not the word. I grabbed the girls an placed them in hall and we started praying for safety and peace in the midst of the storm. In the meantime there daddy being the sweet man he is went out in the storm to rescue the playhouse because it was so important to his babies. I explained afterwards that we can replace things, but not our lives and God had truly placed His hand of protection on us!!
Merry Christmas from us in May!!! I hope your Christmas was filled with fun, but most of all you remember the reason we celebrate!!
